The army distributed wheelchairs and artificial limbs to the disabled people in Jammu and Kashmi's Poonch district.

The task was carried out by the Romeo Force Regiment 39 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and charitable organisation Pritam Spiritual Foundation Trust yesterday to help the disabled people in the border belt of the district.

"Some people got the limbs in the month of November. Today we are grateful that with the help of 39 RR and Jagbir Singh, now we would not face any difficulty in moving to city, or anywhere else," said Mohammad Afzal, who lost his leg in a bomb blast.

Meanwhile, chairman of the Pritam Spiritual Foundation Trust, Jagbir Singh Sudan, thanked the army for supporting them in this noble cause.

"Today the tricycles and wheelchairs were distributed by the army to the people who had registered in November. People from far off places had come here. I am grateful to the army that they gave Pritam Trust this opportunity in this area. These people are now able to go back to their homes on their own," said Sudan.

The camp was organised to help the victims of mine explosions, firing, militant activities in the border area who had to travel earlier to Jaipur to get prosthetic limbs.

In November last year, the army provided artificial legs to 20 people in a distribution camp at its battalion base.
