The Congress today filed a complaint against Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan with the state election commission over the audio tape row.

Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh had earlier released an audio tape on his social media account, accusing Chouhan of seeking favours from BJP leader Rajesh Chaudhary in lieu of a better post following the Garoth Vidhan Sabha polls.

Digvijay also demanded Chouhan's resignation over the matter.

"This is highly condemnable, the Election Commission (EC) must take note of this," Congress leader Manak Agarwal said earlier.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), however, was swift to deny the allegations.

"It is a non-issue, just a part of Digvijay Singh ji's dirty politics. Congress makes efforts to malign image of Shivraj Singh Chouhan before every election," said BJP leader Vishwas Sarang.
