Australia's miserable run at this year's WorldT20 tournament in Bangladesh has exposed a glaring weakness against spin, especially on turning tracks.

Australia lost its top six batsmen to spinners in a devastating loss to the West Indies. In their first match in the tournament, a little-known 35-year-old Pakistan spinner, Zulfiqar Babar, dismissed opener Dave Warner and middle-order batsman Shane Watson in the first over.

The side also came a cropper against Indian spinners on Sunday, being bundled out for 86 while chasing 159, reports news.com.au.

Australia's best two players of spin - Test skipper Michael Clarke and his possible future successor Steve Smith - are half a world away from Bangladesh.

Australia is a vastly improved cricket side since being thumped 4-0 in the unhappy Test series in India early last year but plenty of problems linger against facing spin.
