Samajwadi Party (SP) general secretary Mohammad Azam Khan on Friday squarely blamed Amar Singh for creating differences between Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal Yadav, adding there is a history to his several political acts.

"History says the same. Whatever happened with Amitabh Bachchan, Ambani family is known to all. The same thing is happening again," Khan said.

When asked about whether it can be viewed as a conspiracy by Amar Singh to take revenge for the insult of the past, Khan said one can only be insulted when he has respect, and Singh has not acquired this respect.

"Those who have respect, only they can be insulted. First one has to gain respect. When a politician dedicates his entire life in politics then he gains respect. He inherits this respect from his ancestors," he said.

Khan further took the side of Mulayam Singh Yadav and said that whatever decision Netaji (Mulayam Singh) will take will be supported by everyone.

The political crisis within the ruling Samajwadi Party escalated last evening as newly appointed state unit chief Shivpal Yadav resigned from all party posts and ministerial berths.

His son Aditya Yadav also resigned as the chairman of Pradeshik Cooperative Federation.

On Friday, Mulayam Singh Yadav met Akhilesh Yadav and Shivpal Yadav at his Lucknow residence and reportedly brokered a peace deal between the two.

Tension, however, prevails, as the political dram-cum-crisis is far from over.
