B-town's heartfelt wishes on International Women's day

March 8 is observed as International Women's Day, a global day which celebrates social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and heartfelt wishes are pouring in from Bollywood stars.

Actress Dia Mirza tweeted: Mother's #WomensDay wish to me "Strive to stay on course with grace, dignity and gentleness." #PowerOfLove #InternationalWomensDay2016."

Wishing her fans, Juhi Chawla tweeted: Women who seek to be equal with men lack ambition ..!!! Happy Women's Day girls ..!!

Director Ram Gopal Varma tweeted: Women are the most beautiful creation of God and for that I will forgive him for creating ugly things like Terrorists, Cockroaches etc."

Neha Dhupia penned her thoughts, writing, "#HappyWomensDay to all the women out there...As for the #men feel blessed u have them n tell them how much u love, cherish n respect them."

Farhan Akhtar tweeted: On this Women's Day, let's deepen our resolve to create a world in which all women can live with equality, freedom and dignity."

Music composer A. R. Rahman wrote, "Love and respect to all the women who made my life beautiful and bearable... Happy Women's Day!."

Shilpa Shetty wrote, "Happy Women's day Tweetos,don't forget to watch @bestdealtv at 10am for "SPARKLE" my NEW line of saris. Coz we r all meant to sparkle."

Urvashi Rautela, Miss Diva 2015 tweeted: "A beautiful women ,a great friend and a wonderful mother.I feel so proud to have a mom like you. Happy Women's Day."

Arjun Kapoor shared a video on his Twitter handle wishing every women a very happy Women's Day

Boman Irani tweeted: Women can do what men can do, But men just can't do what women do.....they should try, will make them stronger! #InternationalWomensDay."

International Women's Day, originally called International Working Women's Day, is celebrated on March 8 every year. In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation, and love towards women to a celebration for women's economic, political, and social achievements.

Some people celebrate the big day by wearing purple ribbons. In China, it is also referred to as Queen's day with many sales for women in departmental stores.
