Pakistan middle-order batsman Babar Azam has been included in the Test squad for the upcoming three-match series against West Indies, beginning from October 13 in the UAE.
Azam's inclusion in the five-day format comes following his commendable back-to-back centuries in the ongoing three-match ODI series against the Caribbean side.
According to the Express Tribune, Azam is likely to replace all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed, who was the part of the Test squad that toured England.
Besides Azam, all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz is also expected to be named in the squad as an additional player to provide back up to spinners Yasir Shah and Zulfiqar Babar.
The final squad for the Test series against West Indies is expected to be declared by October 8.
