The Jamaican Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) has reportedly announced that the back-up doping tests for former 100-meter world record-holder Asafa Powell, teammate Sherone Simpson and three other athletes have come back positive.

According to Sport24, a Jamaican disciplinary panel is deliberating after a four-day hearing on a positive doping test by three-time Olympic gold medalist Veronica Campbell-Brown.

Stating that all the afore-mentioned athletes have been notified, JADCO said that it would refer the findings to the Jamaican Anti-Doping disciplinary panel after which the hearings will be scheduled.

Jamaica had reportedly been warned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) two weeks ago that it risked expulsion from major competitions if it failed to address failings pointed out by a former senior employee.

The former executive director of the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) had accused Jamaican politicians and administrators of ignoring her warnings that the positive tests returned by Powell and four other athletes were a 'disaster waiting to happen'.
