Defending champion Serena Williams will meet world No.2 Victoria Azarenka for a final showdown in the US Open after defeating Chinese fifth seed Li Na 6-0 6-3.
According to News.com.au, Williams will try to capture her 17th career Grand Slam title and fifth US Open crown on Sunday at Arthur Ashe Stadium in a rematch of last year's final, in which she beat Azarenka 6-2, 2-6, 7-5
The report mentioned that Australian Open champion Azarenka reached the final at the Flushing Meadows for the second successive year on Friday with a 6-4 6-2 win over unseeded Italian Flavia Pennetta.
Expressing her excitement at getting back in the US Open finals, Azarenka said that she had to play a tricky match against Pennetta for which she committed six double faults and 25 unforced errors, adding that she will have to give her best in the finals with Williams.
