The High Court Division on Tuesday will pass orders on three petitions, filed by former Bangladesh Prime Minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

The High Court bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice JBM Hassan fixed the date after concluding the hearing on the petitions, as reported by the Daily Star.

Advocate Khandker Mahbub Hossain placed arguments before the HC on behalf of Khaleda Zia, while Attorney General Mahbubey Alam opposed the bail petitions.

Of the three cases, was about vandalising vehicles on January 25, 2015, and the other was for killing eight people and injuring 25-26 by setting fire on a passenger bus in Chauddagram on February 2 the same year.

The third case was filed by Raihan Faruki Imam with a Narail court on September 24, 2015, against Khaleda for making a statement about Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the number of freedom fighters.

Khaleda had said that Rahman did not seek country's independence instead he wanted to be Pakistan's Prime Minister.

Khaleda has also been convicted for several other cases included Zia Orphanage graft case, undermining the map and flag of Bangladesh, which also includes the distortion of the 1971 Liberation War in an event, and celebrating her birthday with false information.
