Bangladesh, US stress on need for stronger partnership to resolve security issues

Bangladesh and the United States have emphasized on the need for stronger partnership to resolve security issues effectively.

According to The Daily Star, the issue came up during the fourth security talks between the US and Bangladesh in Washington DC on Friday.

Bangladesh reiterated its commitment to fight extremism and terrorism at the meeting.

The nine-member Bangladesh delegation was led by Mizanur Rahman, secretary (bilateral and consular) of foreign ministry.

The team included representatives from the foreign, home and defence ministries, Armed Forces Division and the Bangladesh embassy in Washington.
