The owner of Bawana factory which was gutted in fire yesterday has been sent to one day judicial custody.
The Rohini Duty Magistrate gave the order.
Manoj Jain is the owner of the firecracker unit in Bawana where a massive fire broke out on Saturday evening killing 17 people and injuring two others.
Meanwhile, Delhi Minister Gopal Rai has confirmed that an investigation has been launched in the connection.
"We have set up an investigation in the Labour Department. We have also announced ex-gratia of Rs 5 Lakh to the next of kin of the victims & Rs 1 Lakh compensation to the injured, "said Gopal Rai.
The industrial area recorded three fires on Saturday - the first around 4 pm in a carpet manufacturing company in Sector 1, the second in the firecracker unit in Sector 5, and the third in Sector 3 at 7.30pm.
