The Board for Cricket Council of India (BCCI) president Jagmohan Dalmiya suffered a heart attack on Thursday after he complained of chest pain and has undergone an angiogram at the BM Birla hospital ,a senior Cricket Association of Bengal official confirmed the news.
According to ESPNcricinfo, the hospital's medical bulletin said, "Mr Jagmohan Dalmiya, 75 years, came to BM Birla Heart Research Centre at around 9 pm today, almost 6 hours after the onset of chest pain, with a history of acute extensive anterior myocardial wall infarction. His blood pressure and pulse were stable."
The bulletin added that, "The patient is currently under requisite medication protocol and is being closely monitored in coronary critical care unit."
Reacting to the news, Indian cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle wrote on Twitter, "Oh dear, I hope Jagmohan Dalmiya recovers from what news channels are saying is a heart attack......".
Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly along with other board officials arrived at the hospital to visit Dalmiya.
Dalmiya had taken over N Srinivasan in March this year. He had also served as president of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and also occupied top posts in the Cricket Association of Bengal(CAB).
