County club Durham cricketer, Ben Stokes has been selected for the 13-man squad for the first Test against India starting on 9 July at Trent Bridge.

The 23-year-old all-rounder would be returning after a surgery he had in the wrist which he injured by punching a locker during England's tour of West Indies earlier in 2014, the BBC reported.

Team selector James Whitaker expressed high hopes from Stokes and added that he can be another seamer for the squad. Regarding the recent series with Sri Lanka, Whitaker said that the team had been in good winning position but was not able seal the win.
