Benedict Cumberbatch will star in war drama 'The Yellow Birds' which is being unveiled in Cannes Films Festival, it has been revealed.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Tye Sheridan, and Will Poulter will also star in the war drama which is an adaptation of the Kevin Powers novel being directed by director David Lowery.
Lowery said that he never had any interest in making a war film, until Story Mining's CEO and president Jeffrey Sharp and production president Evan Hayes brought him the novel by Powers.
Lowery added that he was perhaps still not interested, because while Powers' story took place during wartime, it was not about the conflict and it was about characters who found themselves caught up in war, but who struggled to not let it define them and he fell in love with them.
