Ashwani Sharma, the owner of the shelter home where a differently-abled girl was allegedly raped in Bhopal, has been sent to one-day police custody by a Bhopal Court.
Sharma was arrested on August 10 by the police for allegedly raping a deaf-mute girl during her stay in his hostel.
The matter came to light when the girl narrated the ordeal to her family members when he went back to her home in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar.
On learning about the incident, her kin approached the police and filed an FIR against the accused under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
