Big B turns 74, wakes up to trending #HappyBirthdayAmitabhBachchan

As Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is celebrating his 74th birthday today, the nation collectively sent him well wishes through the social media.

Fans and celebrity alike took to Twitter and other social media platforms to relive the 73-year-old superstar's best moments in the film industry as well as the good things to come following this special day.

One well wisher tweeted "#HappyBirthdayAmitabhBachchan. Let's start the day with a love song of @SrBachchan" along with the popular romantic song from the movie from 1981, 'Silsila' titled 'Dekha Ek Khwab To Yeh Silsile Hue.'

"Bollywood is famous today because of this two @iamsrk @SrBachchan. #HappyBirthdayAmitabhBachchan," another tweeted with a picture of Bachchan alongside Shah Rukh Khan.

Not long after the clock marked the actor's birthday, #HappyBirthdayAmitabhBachchan began trending on Twitter in India.

The early 1970s witnessed Bachchan's stardom for his hit movies like 'Deewar' and 'Sholay' among many others. He was dubbed India's first 'angry young man' for his on-screen roles. Referred to as the'Shahenshah of Bollywood' and 'Star of the Millennium', Big B has since appeared in over 180 Indian films in a career spanning more than four decades.
