BJP leader Shazia Ilmi on Thursday criticised the Aam Aadmi Party for not taking the matter of domestic violence seriously and blaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi for everything.

"Domestic violence is indeed a serious matter; even the law and enforcement that goes with it should take these matters seriously," Ilmi told ANI.

Earlier, the wife of former Delhi minister Somnath Bharti had filed a complaint against him, accusing him of "domestic violence and mental torture".

She said, "Aam Admi Party should look into the matters in their own party instead of being obsessed with Modi government. They should stop blaming PM Modi for everything.
