BJP MLA O.P. Sharma, who had hurled offensives at Aam Aadmi Party MLA Alka Lamba a couple of days back, was on Thursday suspended for the entire winter session of the Delhi Assembly.
Following the demand of an apology from Sharma by the AAP MLAs, Speaker Ram Niwas Goel - who had earlier suspended Sharma till Thursday - told him to apologise, but the BJP legislator failed to abide by it.
However, with the ruling AAP continuing with their demand for the "permanent removal" of Sharma from the assembly, Sharma was finally suspended by the Speaker.
During a discussion on homeless people and night shelters on Tuesday, Sharma attacked Lamba, saying, "Ye toh raat bhar ghumne wali hai."
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, too, expressed his shock over the comments, hoping an action against him by the BJP.
