Minister of State for Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh on Saturday said that his party was ready for assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
'It is the prerogative of the Election Commission to declare dates of holding of polls and we don't have to say anything on it," Singh told the media here.
" However, as far as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is concerned we are always ready; we have no reservations whenever the dates are declared," he added.
The Election Commission is expected to announce the dates for assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand later in the day.
The ruling National Conference has expressed its reservations on deferring polls in the state, while all other parties have called for holding polls in the state as per schedule.
The term of the present National Conference government led by Omar Abdullah ends on January 19, 2015.
