Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers staged a protest here on Sunday against the rising crimes in Bangalore after the recent rape of a six-year-old girl inside her school premises.

The protesters held party flags and banners with anti Karnataka government slogan.

Chand Pasha, State Secretary of Minority Morcha criticised the Congress government for the failure of law and order in the state and demanded Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's resignation.

"We are protesting against the rising crime in Bangalore. Till now such an incident has never happened. The CM is sleeping in the parliament. The government is not concerned about the safety of women. Since Congress has come to power in the state there is a complete failure of law and order. The government should resign. We want peace and good behaviour towards females. We demand CM's resignation," said Pasha.

On July 2, two gym instructors had allegedly raped the minor girl inside the premises of Bangalore's Vibgyor School when she had gone to the washroom.

After the incident came to light, angry parents vandalized the school premises demanding an explanation. They alleged that the school management was not addressing the issue with utmost urgency.

Yesterday, residents of Bangalore also took to the streets to protest against the incident and a massive crowd gathered outside the police station demanding justice for the girl.
