Supporters of the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday took to the streets in Bangalore to protest against External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid over his remarks on BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) said Khurshid's remark against Modi was unparliamentary.

Reportedly, Khurshid has called Modi 'impotent' referring to the 2002 Gujarat riots.

"This has always been the culture of the Congress to use such kinds of unparliamentary words, and we totally condemn this, and this is definitely not the kind of language anyone should use," said BJYM member Saptagiri Gowda.

Khurshid not only drew flak from the BJP over his use of language, but his own party members too. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari and Junior Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajiv Shukla also condemned the use of derogatory language.

However, refusing to apologise over the choice of his words, Khurshid defended himself saying 'impotent' was not used in physical context, but it meant he (Modi) had failed to do what he was supposed to and that he lacked leadership quality at the time of crisis in his state.
