At least three persons were killed and five others injured, when a boiler exploded inside the Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd premises in Chembur area of Mumbai on Saturday.
A police official leaving the highly guarded premises spread over a large area, said the efforts to curb the fire in underway. She, however, did not reveal the extent of damage caused and even the magnitude of the fire.
"I do not know much. The fire fight is going on inside. We do not have much information right now. There are a total of eight casualties, three are dead and five are injured," she told ANI.
According to reports, the incident took place around 5.45 pm in a unit of the Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited in Chembur.
In May, twelve people were killed after a similar blast took place in a Chemical factory in Dombivali.
