Bolt not worried about 'tarnishing career' if fails to retain 100, 200m titles in 2016 Olympics

Jamaican sprint star Usain Bolt has said that he is not worried that he might tarnish his career by failing to retain his 100 and 200 metres Olympic titles in the 2016 Olympics at Rio de Janeiro.

According to The Scotsman, if such a thing happened, then Bolt stated that he would take it as his due and understand that he had his time, is getting older and be content with the fact that he has been dominant for a long time.

Stating that one does not get what they want always in their life, Bolt said that although he would be disappointed if he does not win those medals again, he would not be unduly worried as he is aware that athletes have to work harder to step their game up and be the best, which might be a little difficult for him as he would be three years' older.

Bolt further said that he would be happy for the sport because it would mean that the game is stepping up and moving on, although he added that he wants to continue pushing the barrier and win again in Rio de Janeiro to add to his greatness as it would be the first time that an athlete has won three times in a row.

Bolt, who won the 100m and 200m double at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, also said that he wants to be remembered among legends like Pele, Diego Maradona and Michael Johnson.

Meanwhile, Bolt also said that he might be 'too lazy' to take up a sports administration role after retiring.
