The two friends of Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev have reportedly pleaded not guilty to destroying the Tsarnaev's belongings.

The lawyers of suspects Robel Phillipos, 19 and Dias Kadyrbayev said that the indictment makes its clear that Phillipos had nothing to do whatsoever with the Boston Marathon Bombing or destroying any evidence.

Lawyers Derege Demissie and Susan Church said that it will be made clear in the end that this prosecution should never have been brought in the first place, news.com.au reports.

Authorities allege that Tsarnaev, 20, and his brother Tamerlan, 26, ethnic Chechens from Russia, planned and carried out twin bombings near the finish of the marathon on April 15 which killed three people and left more than 260 injured.

The report said that the authorities allege that the friends were in Tsarnaev's room three days after the attacks and Phillipos is accused of lying to investigators during questioning.
