Indian observers to monitor polls in Lanka's Northern Province

Six Indian observers led former Chief Election Commissioner N Goplalaswamy will be in Sri Lanka for the next ten days to monitor elections in the island nation's Northern Province.

The Indian team will include Chief Electoral Officers of Himachal Pradesh Narinder Chauhan and Sunil Kumar Gupta of West Bengal.

In addition to the Indian observers, there will be five observers from Pakistan, three from Bangladesh, two each from Nepal and Maldives and one each from Afghanistan and Bhutan.
