Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) closed today 311.22 points up to stand at 25,764.78.
The National Stock Exchange (Nifty) closed 106.00 points up to stand at 7,823.00.
DLF Ltd, JSW Energy Ltd, Oberoi Realty Ltd and Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd were among the top gainers of Group A with increases of 10.40, 7.16, 7.09 and 6.70 percent respectively.
The top losers of Group A were Amtek Auto Ltd, Sunrise Asian Limited, Kaveri Seed Company Ltd and Container Corporation Of India Ltd with decreases of 34.81, 5.95, 4.98 and 4.47 percent at the close of the markets.
The auto sector was up 229.38 points at 17,383.44, while the banking sector was up 359.04 points at 18,940.16. The realty sector was up 55.89 points at 1,285.04.
The Indian currency remained unchanged at 0.00 percent at Rs 66.18 per dollar.
