The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested one of the key accused in Burdwan blast Sahanur Alom from Nalbari district of Assam.
According to reports, Additional Director General of Police (DGP) Pallab Bhattacharya had last night confirmed that Alom was picked up from Larkuchi village under Mukalmua in Nalbari district in a secret operation.
Reports also say that the NIA had announced a reward of Rs. 5 lakh for providing information about Alom's whereabouts following the Burdwan blast.
Earlier in October this year, a blast in the Burdwan region of West Bengal had killed two people and injured one person. The investigating agencies suspect Bangladeshi militant organisation Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen to be behind the blast.
