The Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government is reportedly scheduled to clear a proposal to take the ordinance route to amend the Land Acquisition Act on Monday.

The Land Act, 2013, which came into force on January 1 this year, specifically says that 13 laws - seen as anti-industry - have to be amended within a year or they would come under the purview of the act.

The Centre had earlier failed to pass the amendments in the winter session.

The Union Cabinet is reportedly meeting from 3 p.m. today.
