Skirmishes erupted in California's Berkeley after several dozen of left-wing protesters surrounded and shouted at a handful of right-wing demonstrators.
As per the Fox News a score of people gathered for a 'Rally Against Hate' in response to a right-wing protest that was planned to raise concerns of violence.
The local police broke up the brief tense fights, by using reportedly using smoke grenade.
Anti-rally protesters were chanting slogans like "No Trump. No KKK. No fascist USA" and carried placard that said: "Berkeley Stands United Against Hate."
Numbers of people were arrested for violating rules against covering their faces or carrying items banned by authorities.
The Police detained at least two people for wearing bandannas covering their faces.
