 "Candidates appear for Army recruitment exam in underwear in Muzaffarpur")
The Patna High Court on Tuesday sought a reply from Defence Secretary RK Mathur over the matter where candidates were asked to appear for Army recruitment exam in their underwear in Muzaffarpur.
The next hearing in this regard has been scheduled for April 5.
According to sources, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has also sought a report from Army Chief Dalbir Singh on this issue.
The incident took place on Sunday when around 1150 candidates, appearing for the post of clerks in the army, were ordered to take off their clothes and sit in only underwear in an open ground to prevent cheating.
The director of the recruitment board has justified such brazen decision saying that they earlier encountered bad experience with cheating. Hence such a radical decision was the need of the hour.
