Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Monday taunted Chief Minister Nitish Kumar saying he should not close his eyes to ignore the Narendra Modi wave.
"When there is a storm blowing, a person puts his neck inside the sand and closes his eyes thinking that there is no wind blowing. Same is the case with Nitish Kumar," Sushil Modi said, taunting the latter.
"The BJP registered thumping victories in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. In Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Raman Singh retained his majority, while in Delhi, the BJP is close to the majority mark. What else is it, if not a storm." Sushil Modi added.
Defending the BJP, he further said: "Just Delhi does not represent the viewpoint of the whole country, and its result should not be used to make a judgment. Narendra Modi has huge role in this victory. Other than him, the BJP has got votes in the names of Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Vasundhara Raje and Raman Singh."
"But, if Modi would have not been there, then it was not possible for the BJP to get two-third and three-fourth of the majority it got in Rajasthan and MP. In Delhi, the seats, which the BJP got, are due to Modi," he added
"So, the Chief Minister should check which way the wind is flowing. There is a definite wave in favour of Modi, and you cannot close eyes to ignore it, nor is it going to stop," he said.
Earlier in the day, Nitish Kumar had said that the BJP will get a shock in the 2014 elections and added that the result in Delhi represents the viewpoint of the whole country.
He also praised the Aam Aadmi Party, which emerged as second largest party in Delhi, saying, "The people voted for the AAP because they wanted a third alternative in Delhi.
