The next round of peace talks between the Centre and the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA will be held on June 25th in New Delhi.

Assam's Home Secretary Gyanendra Dev Tripathi said the Centre will hold discussions with the ULFA's charter of demands in a bid to ensure lasting peace in the region.

The demands included, updating of the National Register of Citizens, S.T status to six communities, constitutional safeguards to indigenous people, among others.

The leaders of the outfit will also hold discussions on the deportation of top ULFA leader Anup Chetia who has been lodged in Dhaka jail.

It may be recalled that the ULFA signed the Suspension of Operation pact with the Central Government in 2011, but ULFA chief Paresh Baruah is still opposed to it.

The Assam Government has urged him several times to shun violence and join the peace process on several ocassions.
