Varnika Kundu, who was stalked and attempted to kidnap by Haryana BJP president Subhash Barala's son, Vikas Barala, on Friday stated that she is glad about the decision by the judicial system against the accused.

Varnika's statement came hours after Chandigarh court framed Vikas Barala on charges of abduction in a case of stalking and attempted kidnapping.

Speaking to ANI, Varnika said, "My ultimate aim is to teach them a lesson, to everyone else, who thinks they can do anything and get away with it if they are influential. People with power over shadow the poor and also misuse their authority. This is what we were expecting and this is a great development for judicial system. We kept our faith in the judicial system and it has delivered".

The incident, which took place on August 4, created a ruckus across the country, when Kundu accused Vikas and his friend Ashish Kumar of following her car in the middle of the night in Chandigarh.

The two men were then arrested on the basis of her complaint, but were released on bail as they were booked under bailable sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act.

However, they were arrested again on August 9 under sections 365 and 511 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
