Former Australian skipper Ian Chappell has said that Pakistan will struggle in terms of attracting major teams for a tour to their country in near future.

He added that it will in turn cause a major problem for world cricket as the nation will not be able to produce inspiring young cricketers, the Express Tribune reported.

Expressing his views on the growing trends of Twenty20 Leagues, the former top-order batsman said that the format would pose major concerns for the game as the lucrative leagues would consume a lot of the cricket calendar.

The 71-year-old further said that the focus of T20 matches is turning towards entertainment rather than cricket, adding that people are also spending huge amount of money on the format and consequently the traditional formats are suffering.

Pakistan will be inaugurating their maiden edition of the T20 Pakistan Super League (PSL), which will be held in the United Arab Emirates in February 2016.

The glittering tournament will feature international superstars like Chris Gayle, Kevin Pietersen, Lasith Malinga, Luke Wright, Grant Elliott and Tim Bresna.
