According to a senior U.S. Air Force official, the Chinese military could reportedly target Okinawa Prefecture and the U.S. territory of Guam during contingencies in Taiwan or the South China Sea conflicts.
The People's Liberation Army Air Force and the Second Artillery Corps are planning on carrying strikes against the American forces and facilities in China in case of greater U.S intervention in its conflicts.
China had issued a written testimony before U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission citing the same, the Japan Times reported.
The country has been in news following its estranged ties over territorial disputes with neighboring nation Taiwan and other south-east nations over island chains in the South China Sea.
