Chris Brown might have to face trial after his lawyers failed to get assault charges dropped against him.
The singer may have to face a maximum sentence of 180 days behind the bars and a fine up to 600 pounds, the Mirror reported.
The 24-year-old singer was involved in a case where a man fractured his nose and got several head injuries following an alleged altercation outside a Washington hotel in October.
Brown has been jailed since March and was accused of hitting the man who made an attempt to click the singer's photograph.
Brown's recent downfall was caused after he violated his probation during his rehab stint for breaking three internal rules.

The initial probation is related to the case in 2009 when he assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna.
