Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday wished the nation on the occasion of Christmas while stating that this is a day of service and compassion.
Addressing the nation in the 27th edition of his 'Mann ki Baat' programme, Prime Minister Modi urged all to follow the footstep of Jesus Christ.
"Jesus not just served the poor but also appreciated the service done by poor. This is real empowerment," he said.
Early in the day, the Prime Minister took to his Twitter handle to extend warm wishes on the occasion.
"Merry Christmas! We remember & celebrate the life & teachings of Jesus Christ. His message of peace, unity & compassion inspires us all," he said.
