The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Wednesday backed the predawn September 29 surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army across the Line of Control (LoC) and said that the move did not have any adverse effect on the economy.
CII Director General Chandrakant Banerjee said that the decision of the surgical strikes was made with sheer clarity which did not let the economy fluctuate.
"Industries backs Central Government on surgical strike says such clarity in decision making is good and no adverse affect on economy over the issue of escalation at borders," he added.
Banerjee said the recent development shows a very defensive sort of an action and a calculated move being taken by the government and the army.
The CII DG further said that India through the much needed attack came out very strongly across the world.
"It is extremely important that India shows its strength in terms of both decision making and action and, therefore, we do appreciate the fact that India came out really very strong across the world," he said.
"We are confident that India is on very strong economic wicket and today the world looks towards India and not just because it's doing well but because of the attention we are enthralling globally," he added.
