CII to work with the new Delhi Government

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has congratulated the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led by Arvind Kejriwal for forming the new government in Delhi.

In a statement issued after the swearing in ceremony of Kejriwal as the Chief Minister of Delhi, Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII, said: "CII looks forward to a strong partnership between the state government and industry in the areas of inclusion, social and physical infrastructure development under the public-private partnership model, skill development and enhancing employability, social security and attracting investments especially in health care, education and knowledge based industries."

He further said: "CII is confident that the new Government would be industry friendly and would strengthen Delhi's pre-eminent position both economically and socially".

"Over the past many years, CII has worked through the focused CII Delhi Task Force to facilitate the engagement between private sector and government on the issues of positive governance, city development, green and renewal energy, affordable healthcare, water conservation, quality of education and women empowerment," Banerjee said.

"In its continuing efforts to promote social inclusiveness and equitable development, CII will look forward to partnering the new government to make Delhi a Services hub and the most preferred destination for investors, with strong focus on enhancing skills and employability, social security, infrastructure, water management, access to quality healthcare for all and gender sensitivity", he further said.
