Cong backs Advani, says disruptions in Parl "pre-planned" by PM

The Congress Party on Thursday used Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran Lal Krishna Advani's concerns over the ongoing ruckus in Parliament to launch a blistering attack on the government and alleged that disruptions are pre-planned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his party.

Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi told ANI, "The anger of L.K. Advani is 100 percent right and against his party. From the past one week, when the Lok Sabha starts.before anybody says anything, the members of the ruling party were seen standing with placards.have you heard this anywhere?...the House where you (BJP) are ruling with 323 seats.your MPs are standing there."

"Prime Minister Modi doesn't want to be exposed. Our demand was that the debate should take place according to the votes and it is essential because they are ruling with 323 seats. The proceedings are blocked by the government," he added.

This is the second time Advani has expressed his agony over unending disruptions in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

"Disruptions are so disappointing that I wonder if I should resign from the Lok Sabha. If Mr. Vajpayee had been in Parliament today, he would have felt disappointed over disruptions." Advani said.

Last week, Advani was heard expressing his unhappiness to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar over the continuing protests in the House.
