Senior Congress leader Randeep Surjewala on Friday bombarded Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a series of questions demanding answers to be given to the nation.
"The 'deshbandi' which originated out of demonetisation has come to an end. Modi ji promised that everything will be sorted after 50 days. He needs to answer if the people will be able to withdraw money from their accounts tomorrow onwards. Will people start getting money from banks in the normal way from tomorrow? Will all the ATMs start working from tomorrow? Will the government compensate for the loss which occurred due to demonetisation?" Surjewala told ANI.
He also asked about the several compensations and allowances demanded by the Congress party to be given to the people facing the brunt of demonetisation.
"Will Modi ji give 20 percent above MSP to farmers? Will you give 50 percent concession on income tax to shopkeepers and small traders? Will you provide solutions to problems of the farmers? Will you ensure that MG NREGA workers' pay and days gets doubled? Will you provide unemployment allowance to those 25 lakh industry workers who lost their jobs due to demonetisation? Will you transfer Rs. 25,000 in the accounts of women belonging to BPL families? The nation wants to know the answer of all these questions. Answer them," he said.
Amidst all the ruckus and chaos, demonetisation reached the mark of 50 days today. With the phase coming to an end, Prime Minister Modi is all set to address the nation about the same on New Year's eve.
