The Congress Party on Monday cautioned Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson M.J. Akbar not to pour out the venom of his past and added that he should talk with a stable mind.
"I think, in politics, it's important that you talk with a stable mind and not pour venom of your past. He (Akbar) has used adjectives against the Congress leadership," Congress leader Tom Vadakkan told ANI.
"M J Akbar was a former Congress spokesperson. He has had bitter experiences and is boiling in venom. I don't know how he talks about the Congress leadership. He has used foul language against Rajiv Gandhi earlier. Now, he is talking about the Congress leadership," he added.
Vadakkan further said, "I don't want to stoop to that level, because, I think, the world at large knows the Congress leadership. We don't need certificates from the Bharatiya Janata Party or M J Akbar on our leadership. We have a confident and forward looking leadership in our party."
Akbar today said that the Congress has become the voice of untruth, malice and utter frustration.
When told that the Prime Minister's speech had made the Congress Party angry, Akbar said, "The Congress gets angry because it is guilty. It has such a history of continuous, relentless and unimaginable corruption. Remember, the scale of 2G scam - 1.76 thousand crores, and coal mines corruption - 200 thousand crores of rupees, can you imagine just in two such scams nearly 400 thousand crores of rupees was taken away by just one party - the ruling party.
