Congress not accepting India moving towards development, says BJP

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said that the Congress does not want to accept that the country is moving towards better administration and development.

Naqvi was reacting to the statement made by Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Japan.

"Rahul Gandhi should understand that the Congress should get happy after seeing the positive message the Prime Minister has given on his foreign trips. Today, the country is moving towards good administration and development and the people have felt that, but the Congress does not want to accept this fact. The world has changed its mood and view towards India and people are proud of that," said Naqvi.

BJP leader Ram Madhav said that the issue of electricity is a 'gift' from the previous government which the current government is trying to solve.

"The problem of electricity is a 'gift' from the previous government. It is a problem which emerged due to the faults of that government, and we are trying to improve that," said Madhav.

Furthermore, former BJP president Venkaiah Naidu said that when Gandhi's own party members were not following his instructions, why should the BJP.

Earlier today, Gandhi had launched an attack on Prime Minister Modi while on a visit to his parliamentary constituency of Amethi.

When residents of the constituency confronted him about the acute power crisis that they were facing, Gandhi, targeting the Prime Minister, said that the latter was too busy playing drums in Japan, when the whole nation was battling a major power crisis, including his own parliamentary constituency.

Gandhi also told the villagers that he had taken up the matter with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav via a letter, and hoped that the matter would be resolved sooner than later.
