Congress president Sonia Gandhi and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi will address a 'Kisan Rally' here on Sunday during which they are expected to target the BJP-led government at the Centre over the Land Acquisition Bill.
They are also expected to highlight the losses and problems faced by the farmers
"Tomorrow, there will be a 'Kisan Rally', which will be addressed by Congress president Sonia Gandhi ji and (party) vice-president Rahul Gandhi. This rally has been organized to address the huge loss and problems being faced by the farmers," Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala told the media here.
"Some false facts are being spread regarding the Fair Compensation Act, 2013, and amendments made by the (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi Government in the Land Bill," he added.
The Congress Party also launched a website called 'zameen waapsi' aimed at providing information on Land Acquisition.
Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that the website would constantly get updated and added that it would provide information about the Land Acquisition through a single click.
"We will reach to the people through this website and will ensure a grievance redressal mechanism on this website. We will also put the Land Acquisition Acts of different states on this website," he added.
Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi met farmers from various states, including Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan, outside his 12, Tughlaq Lane, residence here.
During the meeting, the farmers recounted their losses and appealed for help from the Congress scion.
