Congress leader Ajay Maken on Tuesday questioned the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on why it had decided not to pursue the domestic violence case against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Somnath Bharti.
"I think the law will take its own course, but one thing that we are quite concerned about is that why is the Delhi Women Commission keeping quiet? They should have been more forthright, it should have come out more openly," Maken told ANI.

"If they are speaking on the issue of women and are concerned about the issues of women then be it Somnath Bharti or anyone else, for them no one should be above the law," he added.

Bharti is likely to be arrested as the Delhi High Court today rejected his anticipatory bail plea in connection with the domestic violence case filed against him by his wife Lipika Mitra.
The Malviya Nagar MLA was recently named in a First Information Report (FIR) filed under provisions of the Indian Penal Code, including domestic violence and attempt to murder.
Lipika has been married to Bharti since 2010, but has been living separately from him since 2012 along with the couple's two children in a rented accommodation in Dwarka.
