South African Davis Cup captain John-Laffnie de Jager has praised the fast paced new format of International Premier Tennis League, insisting that the IPTL format would in no way affect the regular tennis calendar.

Jager, who is captain-coach of UAE Royals, believes that IPTL is a great way to end the tennis year, adding that it would have no impact on the regular tennis tournament schedule. He said that he was surprised with the response of the crowds and players, adding that they brought out a real desire to perform at a team level instead of as individuals, Sport24 reported.

At present, Indian Aces featuring Roger Federer, Pete Sampras and Sania Mirza are leading the points table, with closely followed by UAE Royals featuring Novak Djokovic and Marin Cilic.
