A couple along with their five-year-old son allegedly committed suicide on Wednesday by jumping off the 12th floor of a residential building in Surat's Sarthana Jakat Naka area.
"We have found a suicide note in the husband's pocket which says he was facing financial crunches and was debt-ridden," Surat City Police commissioner Satish Sharma told the media here.
He further informed that Vijay Vaghasiya, the head of the family, was running a credit society from the last five years and had incurred losses in the same. Later, he started a textile business that tanked as well.
Sharma added that the police would investigate the case in depth to see if anyone else was behind their death.
