The Delhi High Court on Thursday upheld the 10-year jail term awarded to former Haryana chief minister and Indian National Lok Dal chairperson OP Chautala for his involvement in the teachers' recruitment scam case.

The court also upheld the sentences of the others accused in the case: Chautala's son Ajay, Sher Singh Badshami and IAS officers Vidya Dhar and Sanjiv Kumar.

According to reports, Chautala had approached the court for the suspension of his jail term on health grounds.

The case refers to the illegal recruiting of 3,206 junior basic trained (JBT) teachers in Haryana in 2000.
