The Delhi Metro will begin its trial runs on the extended Violet Line on the Badarpur-Faridabad corridor today.

According to reports, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will check the interaction of the trains with civil structure to ensure that there is no physical blockage during its movement on the tracks. The DMRC will also test the signalling system and other features like the response of the train at different speeds, braking and inter-connection and so on.

The fully elevated 14 kilometre stretch from Badarpur to Faridabad is scheduled to be formally opened in June.
