Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said Delhi Police needs the support of the government to emerge as a more efficient and responsible force.
"The Delhi Police needs to emerge as a more efficient and responsible police force, but I feel for that the Delhi police needs more support from the government," said Singh.
"The Delhi Police is making its best efforts in maintaining law order in the capital, and if they get the desired support from the government, I am sure they will become more efficient," he added.
Earlier today, Singh visited the Delhi police headquarters. He met senior officials and reportedly discussed the capital's law and order situation.
This was Singh's first official interaction with the senior Delhi Police after assuming office.
